Educational and Professional Background

John studied at the University of Salzburg in Salzburg, Austria, graduated cum laude in 1974 from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio in 1977.

He is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Ohio, and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Federal Courts for the Southern District of Florida and the Northern District of Ohio. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association, and has been a member of various legal groups including the American Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

John began his legal career in Ohio as a trial lawyer handling various types of criminal and civil litigation. In addition, his family's business brought him into extensive work in residential and commercial real estate, which in turn led him into more complex development, financing, and leasing transactions.

Over the years his practice grew to include business law with a concentration in handling the personal and business affairs of entrepreneurs, professionals, and small business owners.

That expanded into an active technology practice as he took on various software and hardware vendors, an expertise recognized when he was appointed to the Florida Bar Association's standing commmittee on Computer Law.

Moreover, to insure his clients were covered throughout all phases of their affairs, he developed an extensive trust and estate planning practice to insure continuity of business operations, provide for the needs of family, simplify post-mortem affairs, and reduce the impact of the infirmities of age. He wrote the chapter on "Living Trusts and Pourover Wills" for The Florida Estate Planning Guide, a treatise for lawyers published by Mathew-Bender, a division of Lexis-Nexis.

Personal Activities

Last but certainly not least, John is a published poet and author, professional speaker, devoted father and husband, trustee, spiritual teacher and martial artist, and actively promotes the restoration of civility and inner values in society.

Earlier activities, like being a concert clarinetist, member of the Junior Davis Cup Team (tennis), Little League baseball coach, and participation in Boy Scouts, were reluctantly set aside due to time constraints imposed by his many other commitments.

In addition to his legal and business practice, John shares a vision of how mankind can build a better tomorrow by drawing upon the inner voice that connects each of us to our source of life, continuing a cause for better human relations he started at age 15 when gave the Easter service to his Methodist Church. Now he shows people how to use it to know themselves, where they are going, and address the obstacles that get in their way.
